RYAN HELM ON WEEKEND ROLL - WINS QUIKSILVER / AQUA EAST PRO SKINS CONTEST

SUNDAY 9/24 JAX BEACH PIER; MAKES SEMI-FINALS OF SMITH HIGH ROLLER PRO-AM EVENT ON PREVIOUS DAY - SATURDAY 9/23 FOR =4TH PLACE FINISH

The South side of Jacksonville Pier was teaming with talent as Florida's brightest Stars showed on a Beautiful Sunny Sunday to compete in clean 2-3 foot glassy lines leftover from Hurricane Helene. This Special memorial event was held in Honor of Sandy Forsyth, founder of Aqua East Surf shops, two of the most Successful shops in the South East!  Forty of North Florida's best were invited to Compete in Quiksilvers unique Skins for Ca$h Format. Yes North Florida has plenty of Talent and the future talent pool looks deep. Florida's Surfing Factions are well beyond New Smyrna Beach Central and South Florida. North Florida is holding solid Cards. Names like  Asher Nolan,  Future WCT Campaigner; Gabe Kling, Brady Mckenzie, Ryan Briggs, The Thompson brothers, Shane Murray, Jeff Criego, Sean Poynter, Zander Morton, Wayne Thompson, Adam Mcgill, Eric Hatton, Jody Davis, Dane Jeffries. Jimmy Wilson. The list goes on and on. The stage was set however it was hard for a lot of these guys to stop thinking about their home football team the "Jaguars" playing against Indiana.

Asher "The Slasher" Nolan started out his morning with a taped up wrist fresh off a recent Wrist Surgery from a nasty Infection he caught in Europe. The Slasher was pulling 8.25 scores with ease at his home break and pocketing $250. Other big scores were being thrown down by Skeeter Zimmerman with a 8.38 for solid tail slides and rail turns across fifty yards of the beach.  Both Asher and Skeeter's run stopped early when Brady Mckenzie and Seth Tiliakas decided they wanted alittle cash Also. Seth stayed on a short roll pocketing 2 skins before Jody Davis stole his show. It looked like Phnom Cody Thompson was gonna be the guy to beat before Ryan Helm came out super charging. Jody Davis Kept racking up one skin after another on his backhand attack before Skeeter decided he wasn't driving home with only one Skin. It was looking like it may come down to a Surf off. Then Ryan Helm found his groove for sure and started busting high speed airs and throwing down some nice high speed power arches looking like he was playing "Pin Ball" finishing up every ride with a reversal in the white water. 5 skins later Ryan passed up Jody Davis who was holding down 4. The beach emptied out quick as all the football fans ran to check the Jag Game out! Congrats to all the Skin winners and Ryan Helm for the Solid Display Surfing in the Sunshine State. Special Thanks Go out to Aqua East/ Sandy Forsyth for Supporting Pro Surfing and making for a Great event!
